One of the great things about living where we do is having front row seats for the fireworks at the Alameda County Fair, without even trying. We cross the streeet, and we have a good view. We don't get fireworks on the 4th because 2 years in a row there were "incidents" at the Fair. That's OK, it's kinda nice to get my fireworks early, and delivered to our doorstep. It's fantastic! Except that one year we sat down on the sidewalk, and after the first firework exploded, an animal came bolting across the street, right between us. We had to roll out of the way, like some kind of action movie, to keep from being run over by the crazy cat. I think it was this cat, who I have never really trusted, because I think his markings look like the Fürher's.
They set off one firework, probably as a test.
And then we met Dexter. He was terrified, and bolting down the street. We caught him, and called his owners. They lived just down the street.
And then the fireworks continued.
I'm no writer but it seems to me that it's quite difficult to combine the Fürer, Fireworks, a cat, and a dog into the same story. Props to you if you can come up with an equally strange story. Extra points if it's true.
